A Caregiver, or a Care Worker, assists the people in their care with their daily activities. Their top duties include assisting their clients with bathing and getting dressed, administering any medication and doing small tasks for them.
Caregiver duties and responsibilities
A Caregiver’s primary purpose is to look after their patient. They typically perform the following duties and responsibilities:
Assisting with bathing and dressing the client
Assisting with preparation, serving and consumption of food and drink
Administering oral and topical medication as prescribed by a doctor
Maintaining records of all treatment being administered
Running errands Doing small tasks such as grocery shopping and laundry drop-offs and pickups.
Keeping the living area clean, where applicable
Supporting physical and emotional wellbeing by engaging in light conversation, reading and encouraging physical activity where possible
Collaborating with other health care professionals to establish a schedule of care
